This is all about the simple steps to test and identify transistors in an electric circuit. An ohmmeter can be used to test a transistor for leakage (an undesirable flow of current) by measuring the base-emitter, base-collector, and collector. Otherwise, the connections are interchanged, the multimeter will not show any value. Note: If the positive probe is connected to the anode and the negative probe is connected to the cathode, then the reading will automatically show in a digital multimeter. And connect positive probe to a collector terminal (pin-3) with respect to the base terminal (pin-2). Connect to the emitter and base one way will read about. It should read open swap the leads it will read open. Connect the leads of the meter to the emitter and the collector. If you don’t have one of those a digital meter with a diode test will work.
